Lovely aromatic spicy fruit on the nose and in the mouth, reminiscent of raspberries, liquorice & pepper. Medium bodied, rounded & beautifully soft. (C )

Chateauneuf-du-Pape 1999/2000
Domaine Chante-Cigale is owned by the Favier-Sabon family- it's been in their hands for generations and is one of the oldest in the region- and occupies some 40 hectares comprised of different parcels of land around the village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, located between Orange and Avignon. The wine has lots of warm red fruit and damson aromas, with cinnamon, spices and jam but also concentration on the palate; then liquoricey richness and elegance to finish. (C )

This old estate is located in the Berardenga district in the south of Chianti Classico on the way to Siena. Quite intense and lingering aromas hinting at strawberries and warm, earthy raisins; dry, full-bodied, rounded and harmonious with reasonable legth and a tad of grip (C )
