Amarone Valpolicella Classico, Speri 1998
The small family winery of Speri has been making some of the finest Amarone for the last 100 years. All Speri wines are estate bottled and of very small production. This Amarone is dark and intense with rich flavours of raisins, dates and figs. The palate is smooth, velvety and lingering. (E)

Barolo, Bussia Dardi le Rose 1998
Deeply aromatic nose of barbequed teriyaki, aromas of soy and sweet spices combine with traditional tar and rose. All these complex characters marry perfectly on the palate giving an interestingly textured wine, with super Barolo tannins and a long sour cherry finish. (D)
